Listen up.

In this podcast series, I discover what really happened in the late seventies, where many Indonesian children were adopted internationally – mostly by Dutch nationals.

I follow one person’s quest to find her biological parents in several cities in Indonesia. I also travel to the Netherlands to speak to other Indonesian adoptees, including another one from Sri Lanka.

There are more than three-thousand Indonesian children who were adopted by European parents during the decade until nineteen-eighty-three. Many of their adoption papers were falsified. The same thing also happens in many countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Brazil.

As the narrator of the series, I unravel the unlawful adoption process, which has forced many adoptees to take a winding journey with twists and turns to find their biological mother.

This podcast series won The Best Featured Documentary in Portcast Awards 2022.
